About Carla Korn
I’m a licensed psychotherapist, but you also might think of me as a chaos-quieter or balance-bringer.
I help women develop a more harmonious relationship with food and their bodies and better
understand what’s been getting in their way, so they can move forward to create the lives they truly desire.
Why I’m a Therapist
Being a therapist is amazing work because I get to witness healing and growth in others on a daily basis. I love watching my clients get better, and I can be a steadfast sounding board when my clients are struggling. I do this work because I know from personal experience that living a recovered life is worth it.
What I Do
People struggling with eating disorders are some of the brightest, most driven, and creative people I’ve met, but the chaotic thoughts, behaviors, and obsessions are getting in their way. I help my clients to uncover and believe in their greatness. Together, we can make immediate changes to those sabotaging thoughts and behaviors. With new skills in your toolbox, we can also delve into the tough stuff, exploring the pain you’ve been in and what’s underneath it. I help my clients to explore their values, determine what a recovered life looks like for them, and take steps to get there.
How I Help
Life with an eating disorder is filled with secrets, but my office is a space to be and say exactly who you are. I practice from a size-inclusive perspective. My clients appreciate my humor (I hope), my straightforward, yet gentle approach to therapy, and that I come from a place of deep curiosity about them. Fun Fact: One of my earliest memories as a kid is my parents giving me The Big Book of Why. Apparently, I’ve always been a curious investigator of life and its mysteries. I’d love to help you find

Boring, Yet Important Stuff (My Clinical Experience)
I’ve worked and trained in a variety of clinical settings, including a community-based counseling center and group private practices. Most recently, I served as the Director of Clinical Programming for an eating disorder recovery coaching program. I’ve also worked as a therapist in outpatient and residential treatment centers for eating disorders in both California and New York.
I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Marital and Family Therapy Specialization from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and my bachelor’s degree in political science from Washington University in St. Louis.
A Little More About Me
I’ve been working as a therapist since 2010, after I realized my true calling. Prior to that, I spent several years in the business world in less fulfilling jobs and trying to figure out what would be the best alternative!
A California girl at heart, I was born and raised locally in the Conejo Valley. I lived in New York City for a few years, but winter (along with a general lack of personal space and smelly subway stations) ultimately sent me packing. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and three sons.
